As an ex Fairbridgian girl, very traumatic to go back after 50 years. The place has changed but it retains its old charm slightly. So much damage caused by the mine site nearby. The fresh water river, where we used to swim and catch huge black maron and gilgies, is gone due to a dam being put up further up in the hills. It was also our source of water supply. Beautiful, clear, clean fresh water gone.

Stayed at Darwin Cottage, was nice and clean and had a very chill vibe to it. Nice warm fireplace and also had reverse air conditioning. Definitely had a lot of interesting paranormal experiences for sure, mix of good and bad. Would most likely stay there again, but probably in the warmer months so it wasn't so wet and creepy outside.

I came to this village-esque place in 2015 as part of a school trip with Pathlight School. It is not only an optimal place for resting and holidaying, it is also an adventure-heavy place, with a campfire and rock-climbing area to name a few. There are many flies during the spring season. It is so peaceful. The best experience has to be waking up to the bright shining sun at 5:30am in the morning.

The accommodation is quite basic and the main kitchen not fantastically set up. But a good place for a retreat overall. Main disappointment was the coffee at the cafe. Use a cheap bean and tastes terrible,

Our family visited this place during the summer and it was not a positive experience. It very HOT, the pool was not funtioning properly with poor filtration system. Our cottage was dirty and very dusty. The dust was relentless with every vehicle that drove past at breakneck speed through the village. The pot holes at this place are huge! We thought our car was going to disappear down one at one stage. The flies at Fairbridge are relentless and the horse paddocks don't help with this Summer/Autumn/Spring problem. The staff didn't really seem to care that the flyscreens in our cottage were in disrepair and one was missing completely! Staff here seemed to care less or was it 'just' on our weeknd. We won't be coming back to Fairbridge as it just wasn't worth the money they charge for accommodation and all the other extras. Disapointing weekend for our family and friends!

I grew up at Fairbridge Farm School as an immigrant child, along with my 3 sisters. I can’t say it was an exceptionally pleasant experience however, I always loved the place itself, and if it had been a different cottage mother I probably would have loved the experience as well as the place. Going back gives mixed feelings but it was the delayed celebration of 100 years since Kingsley Ogilvie Fairbridge established The Farm School in Pinjarra. Being alone I could poke my nose in places I haven’t been for such a long time.. the old farm where we used to take two billy cans up each afternoon for fresh milk.. walking in the paddocks looking for the old cemetery (which I didn’t find). I have taken a few photographs of my old cottage - Clive - Which still sports the sheoak shingles on its roof, the matrons cottage (scary place to go every afternoon to obtain your chores) and Nightingale Cottage which was the infirmary and residence of Sister Bartlett. I hope you enjoy the photos I am putting up and please excuse my ramblings.

Lovely, peaceful place to visit for relaxation or to catch up on something. Would have liked for cafe's coffee to be drinkable, but it was dreadful (at least on the weekend - apparently it's better during the week)

The facilities need a major overhaul. We stayed in The Heath and the plumbing was horrible. the floors flooded when having a shower and the water would backflow to the toilets and basins in the house.Beds were ok. Doors and Windows need to be overhauled. We had 1-5 year old's and I wasn't comfortable because the doors wouldn't stay shut / not secure for children.Setting and wildlife is worth 3 stars. Cafe wasn't open from Friday to Sunday so we went into Pinjarra town for coffees and food.

I've been to Fairbridge Festival as a stallholder with my EnviroBren business twice and loved it both times.Planning on coming back on an annual basis if possible. The vibe and atmosphere are buzzing the whole weekend and there was so much to do and see for adults and kids alike.Such a happy place to be.
